Who are we?

As a student-initiated project, we are dedicated to innovation and technological advancement. Our project focuses on building and competing with autonomous delivery drones in the IMechE UAS ChallengeThe IMechE UAS Challenge is a prestigious engineering competition held in the UK, where students from around the world compete to build the best drone., representing Estonia on an international level. We support future engineers in their technological growth and provide an exciting learning experience. Join our mission and be part of the progress!

Blue Sparrow Drone team instructor instructs a drone pilot as a VTOL drone takes off in foggy conditions, highlighting advanced UAV operations.

This season, Blue Sparrow is represented by a VTOL biplane droneA vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is one that can take off and land vertically without relying on a runway., combining smart aerodynamics with a user-friendly package delivery mechanism, making it a versatile and efficient solution. Our goal is to prove that Estonian students can develop world-class drone solutions and create high-tech systems that meet the demands of even the most challenging users.

Estonia’s drone and technology sector has significant growth potential, but realizing it requires more specialists and well-planned investments. Blue Sparrow is a step toward the future, strengthening Estonia’s competitiveness and independent manufacturing capabilities.

Last year’s 3rd place overall in the IMechE UAS Challenge, the Airwothiness special Award, as well as the titles of Achievement of the Year in Estonian Aviation and People’s Favorite, prove the effectiveness of our efforts.

With the experience gained, a bigger and stronger team, and well-thought-out solutions, we are setting our sights firmly on first place this year! 🚀
